Mashing up songs and posting them on youtube?

I am a dj. I bought Sony Acid Pro, Cool Edit Pro(now Adobe Audition) and Fruity Loops Studio XXL version. Is it legal to mash up song with these programs as long as I bought the cd with the songs on them? Here is an example. I bought a DJ Keoki CD. He has a techno song on it called Blow Your Mind. I also bought D4L’s album Down For Life (2005) and used the song Betcha Can’t Do It Like Me. I mashed up the two songs (this means mixed them together). Is this all legal to do as long as I’m using it for my own personal practice? Even farther into detail, is it legal for me to post this as a video on youtube with just the lyrics in the video? I personally make my own songs so I know what these people go through when they lose money to copyright infringement and I do not want to make them go through what I go through but I believe this is a different situation since it’s no the same songs because I made them into a mash-up. Do I have a valid argument here? Respond

It’s legal to do whatever you like with music for your own pleasure. You just can’t sell it i don’t think, and maybe not put it on the internet. I don’t agree with the concept of copyright myself. Music doesn’t have to be a profession and the internet makes distribution easy enough now. By not selling/buying music the “the culture INDUSTRY” is undermined. Simplistically this means that our likes and dislikes are more controlled by us, rather than by mass consumerism.
